Rolling Stones fans mad at Beacon Theater
    Big News Network (UPI)
    Monday 30th October, 2006

Rolling Stones fans quickly found out the scalped tickets they bought for Bill Clinton's birthday show in New York couldn't get them into the Beacon Theater.

Fans couldn't actually get inside the venue unless their name was on a special security list, the New York Daily News reported Monday.

I'm very frustrated, said John DiMartino of Hicksville, L.I. They said I'm not on the list.

Clinton stole the show getting a huge ovation from a crowd that included recording stars Sheryl Crow and Elvis Costello.

The former U.S. president said that he had inspired the Rolling Stones to become serious about helping to fight to address issues like global climate change.

You know you have one foot in the grave when I'm the serious one, said Clinton, who was accompanied by his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y.

Mick Jagger got a laugh, telling the crowd, I'd like to welcome President Clinton. And I see she's brought her husband.
