What's open, closed today and tomorrow

Most state ferry-system routes will operate on a normal Sunday schedule today, Christmas Day. There are some exceptions: The Mukilteo/Clinton route will be on a Saturday schedule. On Monday, the route will be on a Sunday schedule.

The Edmonds-Kingston and Seattle-Bainbridge routes will operate on a Saturday schedule Monday. The Seattle-Bremerton route will have no Seattle-Vashon passenger-only service Monday.

The Point Defiance/Tahlequah route will be on a Sunday schedule on Monday. For more information: www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries, or call 888-808-7977.

Metro Transit bus routes will be on Sunday schedules today and Monday. On Mondays, some Metro routes have added trips, which are noted by the letter "H" on the weekday schedule. Metro's waterfront streetcar line, operated as bus route 99, will not run today. All Metro customer-service offices, including rider information, will be closed Monday.

Sound Transit's regional express buses will operate on a Sunday schedule today and Monday. The Sounder commuter train will not run today or Monday. Information: 206-553-3000 or transit.metrokc.gov.

Community Transit will be on a Sunday schedule today and Monday. (Information: 800-562-1375, or www.communitytransit.org.) Everett Transit will operate on a holiday/Sunday schedule today and a regular schedule Monday. Pierce Transit's local service will be free today. On Monday, Pierce Transit buses will be on Saturday schedule.

Most government offices are closed today and Monday, which is the legal observance of the holiday. Garbage and recycling collection in Seattle will be on regular schedules Monday. City transfer stations will be closed today but open Monday.

All Seattle Public Library branches will be closed today, but all locations will resume regular hours on Monday. King County public-library branches are closed today but will be open Monday. Sno-Isle libraries are closed today and Monday.

Post offices are closed today and Monday, reopening for regular hours on Tuesday.
