Jailed rapper SHYNE is changing his name to MOSES MICHAEL LEVIY after converting to Judaism in prison. Belize-born Shyne, a former protege of superstar SEAN COMBS, was born JAMAAL MICHAEL BARROW in 1978. The rap star, who hopes to be released from prison next year (07) now claims to be descended from Ethiopian Jews. Shyne is serving a ten-year sentence for his part in a 1999 New York club shooting that left three people wounded. Sean Combs and his then girlfriend JENNIFER LOPEZ were also involved, but fled the scene.
